Emily has been working as a writer, director, and dramaturg since 2015. She debuted her first show, TWO THIRDS, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and joined the Old Vic, New Voices writing scheme in 2015.

 

Since then she has directed another critically-acclaimed Edinburgh run, PARTIAL NUDITY, and has worked with a range of fantastic theatre companies, including Great Egg Theatre Company, Flat4 Theatre, Matchstick Theatre Company, Atramental Theatre, Women's Writes at the Arcola, and West Avenue Theatre Company. In 2024, she made her off-west directorial debut when Tiff Milner's WHEN ATLAS MET TANTALUS transferred to Greenwich Theatre, after a successful run at The Bridge House Theatre and The Lion and Unicorn Theatre. She was also a producer at Charthouse Square Theatre Company from January to August 2016, working alongside actor and director, Richard Franklin, and has workshopped new writing with the Masterclass Theatre Trust. Emily is currently workig as a director on DreamArts' Experiment programme, devising two new pieces of theatre with young people. These shows debuted in March 2025. She is currently directing an extract from her latest show (BLINK) AND YOU'LL MISS IT at Flat4 Theatre's Freshly Squeezed new writing night on 13th February 2025 at The Golden Goose Theatre.
