Emily has been working as a writer, director, and dramaturg since 2015. She debuted her first show, TWO THIRDS, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and joined the Old Vic, New Voices writing scheme in 2015.
Since then she has directed another critically-acclaimed Edinburgh run, PARTIAL NUDITY, and has worked with a range of fantastic theatre companies, including Great Egg Theatre Company, Flat4 Theatre, Matchstick Theatre Company, Atramental Theatre, Women's Writes at the Arcola, and West Avenue Theatre Company. In 2024, she made her off-west directorial debut when Tiff Milner's WHEN ATLAS MET TANTALUS transferred to Greenwich Theatre, after a successful run at The Bridge House Theatre and The Lion and Unicorn Theatre. She was also a producer at Charthouse Square Theatre Company from January to August 2016, working alongside actor and director, Richard Franklin, and has workshopped new writing with the Masterclass Theatre Trust. As of November 2025, Emily has been working with Omnibus Theatre as their Learning and Participation Facilitator and Producer, coordinating and delivering their youth theatre and community projects. In August 2025, she performed her solo show, EATING SATSUMAS IN THE SUN AND FORGETTING ABOUT HEARTBREAK, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival before bringing it back to Etcetera Theatre in Camden in September. She is currently working as a director with Flat4 Theatre's Natasha Brotherdale-Smith on the development of her new play, STUCK.

Flat4 Theatre

365 Women a Year is an international playwriting project that puts women's voices and experiences back into the canon. In 2019, Emily worked on monologues looking at the lives of Marianne Elliott, Vivian Reed, Magaret Anglin, Eliska Peskova, Tsuru Aoki, Pearl Eytinge, Phyllis Ryan, and Leilani Jones.
